About Us

Hank’s Saloon was a staple in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn since 2002. Before Hank’s, it was a well-know neighborhood bar named The Doray Tavern which was a mainstay in the community for American Indian Ironworkers that came to build the towers in NYC. In 2002, Hank’s Saloon added a live music program to Sunday nights, and when the current owner took it over in 2005, Hank’s continued adding to the music calendar and it became a well-known intimate, live music venue with great sound, while still maintaining its “neighborhood” vibe. Over the years the original Hank’s building (which has been around since the mid-1800s) had been bought by different developers with plans to build on that corner. For some reason or another, all the development would get pushed back and Hank’s would be saved, until 2018 when the last developer was ready to file paperwork and build.

Hank’s needed a new home! Not only for the community but for the bands and especially for Hank's amazing staff. The folks from Hill Country heard about our plight and offered us a space on the second floor above Hill Country Food Park near Borough Hall and Metro Tech in downtown Brooklyn. We welcome you with our original staff behind the bar and our music program rockin' on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Hank's is available for private events such as a swinging company party or an awesome rockabilly wedding!

Thanks to Hill Country for letting Hank’s live on in downtown Brooklyn; we are really looking forward to meeting our new neighbors!

Please note that Hank’s is a 21 and over venue.
